  Apple 🍎 seems to have the upper hand The people of Hathlangoo (Generally famous as the village of Famous Saint, Haba Sahab) and people also name the village as Haba Sahbi Hathlung. General Auqaf Committee Hathlangoo has been a strong decision making committee and looking after the development and other things in the village. Now after the resignation of Chairman who has completed his tenure, Hathlangoo is going for polls to elect the next Chairman. 3 candidate have filed their nominations namely Mr. GH Hassan Lone ( a business taikoon of the village), Mr. Mohammad Munawar Wani and Mr. Mohammad Hussain Dar (ex Chairman). Although it seems that Mr. GH Hassan has the upper hand because the youth of village have a good belief in him, but the contest looks like a bit hard as Mr. Munawar is making his all efforts by campaigning throughout the village. 8 militants killed in two gunfights


08 militants, including top commanders, were killed in two gunfights with forces in Anantnag and Shopian districts of south Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid on Sunday said.
Vaid tweted that 7 bodies of militants have been recovered from the site of a gunfight with forces in Dragad village included top commanders.
Another militant, he said, was killed in a gunfight with forces at Dialgam in Anantnag, “after efforts of his family and Jammu and Kashmir Police failed to make him surrender & one caught alive.
Earlier, a police spokesman said, a militant surrounded by the forces during Anantnag gunfight surrendered after requests from the family and police.
The gunfight had begun late last night after the government forces launched a cordon and search operation in Peth  Dialgam area in the jurisdiction of Police station Anantnag.
“As the search started and the location of militants was zeroed in, the security forces made repeated requests on loud speaker asking them to surrender, as per the Standard Operating Procedure,” said the spokesman.
“On this, one of the militants (name withheld) came out of the house and surrendered before the forces. He has been taken into custody.”
The family of the militant who surrendered at the encounter site also helped the police in motivating him to come out of the house and surrender.
“The other did not do so and instead resorted to firing on the forces which was retaliated and in which he was killed.” He was identified as Rouf Khanday.
Rouf had gone missing early this year and his gun-wielding photograph had surfaced on social media in last week of March. “The body of Rouf has been handed over to the family for last rites. Both of them were part of outlawed organisation Hizbul Mujahideen.”
Necessary legal proceedings have been stated into the matter.
