Thousands attend last rites of LeT militant

Thousands of people on Sunday attended the last rites of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba militant    Shafat Hussain Wani who was killed in a gunfight with forces in Arizal village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district around midnight.
An eye witness said that thousands of mourners, including men, women and elderly, assembled in his native village Wagoora Baramulla after the news of his death reached there.
Pro-freedom slogans were raised by the mourners as the body of Wani was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard.
Earlier, forces were deployed in strength in and around Wagoora area to prevent any untoward incident. 
Authorities also suspended the mobile Internet service in parts of Baramulla soon after Wani’s killing.
